Scoping a 3D data service


Information to participants

The information below aims to inform you about the survey and your participation in it. Before you decide whether you want to participate, please read the following information carefully and feel free to ask any questions.   

What is the purpose of the survey?   

This survey aims to scope the specifications for a data service which supports the Arts and Humanities community to use and manage complex visual datasets (i.e., 2D/3D/4D digital surrogates and digital-born material).   

Who can participate?   

Any adult (18 years old or older) can participate.   

Do I have to take part?   

You do not have to take part if you do not wish to. If you agree to participate you will be asked to provide consent at the bottom of this page. If you decide to withdraw from the survey, you can quit and not submit your responses.   

What does taking part involve?   

You will have to respond to the survey questions. The whole process will probably take 10-15 minutes.   

What are the possible disadvantages, benefits or risks of taking part?   

No disadvantages or risks have been identified with respect to participation. Your responses will help to determine how we manage 3D research data in the UK. We hope that you will find the survey and its activities interesting.   

Will my taking part be kept confidential?   

All collected data are automatically anonymized and treated confidentially. The data will be retained for ten years and then it will be disposed securely.  

What will happen to the results of the survey?   

The results of this survey will be disseminated via academic publications and a scoping study report which will be available to policymakers.

Who has reviewed the study?   

The study has been reviewed and approved by the Cross-School Research Ethics Committee of the University of Brighton.
